MTV EMA Awards in Scotland Gets XL Video Support

COPENHAGEN – The Royal Danish Opera House marked its 10th season anniversary with an exterior lighting design by Royal Danish Theatre LD and technical manager Tommy Larsen. He chose 30 P-5 wash lights to illuminate The Royal Danish Opera House for each opening night of a new show.

WARSAW, Poland — For the Professional Windsurfers Association’s PWA Indoor Windsurfing World Cup, held at Warsaw’s National Stadium Sept. 5-7, LDs Adam Tyszka and Sebastian Pachciarek used dozens of SGM SixPack pixel arrays in two separate groupings. The IP65 rating for the RGBA LED fixtures helped alleviate water ingress concerns for the fixtures placed closest to the pool.

UFA, Russia – For Russia’s Milk Music Festival, Kilowatt Rentals and Staging provided festival LD Yan Prokofyev with an ETC Cobalt 20 desk to control the moving lights, LED luminaires, audience blinders and strobe lights used to highlight the folk singing, dancing and musical groups performing on the open-air stage structure during the event.

ROME — Italy’s rich heritage of film-making is marked by films from lauded directors including Federico Fellini, Michelangelo Antonioni, Franco Zeffirelli and many more. Rome’s new Cinecitta World visitor attraction is a theme park dedicated to Italian cinema Lighting for the 25 minute Enigma show — produced by FilmMaster and staged in a 1,200 capacity venue right in the center of the complex — has been designed by LD Giovanni Pinna, who specified a Robe moving light rig.

GLASGOW, U.K. – For the 2014 MTV EMA Awards, held at the 13,000-capacty SSE Hydro Arena Nov. 9, lighting designer Stuart Pring worked with Panalux gaffer Mark Gardiner on a series of uniquely crafted looks using a rig including Ayrton MagicBlade-R fixtures.
