NYC – It’s always exciting to be involved in a new event and the positive buzz, energy and hashtags spread as infectiously as the groove of the very first HRBR Project shows, a new music venue presented by RPM on Governor’s Island in New York Harbor. Kevin Mignone, owner of KM Productions, the company charged with producing the multi-week event, was determined to deliver the biggest and boldest show possible for the new outdoor space and brought on long-time collaborator, Mike Gionfriddo of Total Production Design (TPD), as the lighting designer to create a design with maximum impact.

Linkin Park Cancels North American Tour

LOS ANGELES – Live Nation announced that Linkin Park’s North American tour in support of the band’s 2017 album release, One More Light, has been canceled. Frontman Chester Bennington, 41, was found dead July 20, one week before the North American tour was due to launch at the Xfinity Center near Boston, MA. The North American tour leg was to start in Boston July 27 and wrap up in Los Angeles on Oct. 22.

French Singer Dies on Stage; Reports Cite Electrocution as Possible Cause

GOURDON, France – French vocalist Barbara Weldens, 35, was performing at the Festival Léo Ferré in a church in southwest France on the evening of July 19 when she suddenly collapsed and died on stage. The cause of death, still officially unknown, has been reported as cardiac arrest from apparent electrocution. Weldens, who had said on her website that she grew up traveling in a circus, was on the rise, releasing her first album this year after winning the young talent award at the Jacques Brel festival and the Pic D’Or prize last year.
