Whirlwind ROK1 and ROK2

Whirlwind’s ROK (Remote Outlet Kontroller) units, including the ROK1 and ROK2, are UL-listed devices that conveniently turn power on and off for remotely located equipment that consumes power even while not in use. They’re ideal for controlling AC power to projectors, video displays, powered loudspeakers, lighting fixtures, etc. ROK1 switches are used for single-phase 120 VAC, and ROK2 is used for switching single-phase 240 VAC, or two legs of 208 VAC three-phase. Both devices are rated for switching 20-amp AC branch circuits. The ROK1 and ROK2 are UL listed as Industrial Control Switches, ANSI/UL 508 and CSA C22.2 No. 14-13 standards for the direct control of nonmotor-rated loads.

WAREGEM, Belgium  – Thanks to its consistently impressive line-ups and extravagant productions, the five-year old Hype-O-Dream has already succeeded in making an indelible impact on the summer EDM festival calendar in Belgium. This year’s headliners including Lil John and Roger Sanchez raising the bar. Creative Rental Solutions were tasked with providing bigger and better visuals for the festival’s five stages. To achieve this, they incorporated a number of CHAUVET Professional Maverick MK1 Hybrid, Maverick MK2 Spot, Rogue R2 Wash and Geyser RGB fixtures into the visual concepts of the Mirage Mainstage and the Flashback Stage.

UK –  Two Avolites Ai R6 media servers and an Arena lighting console running the latest Ai and Titan software were chosen to control the high-energy light and video package for the design relaunch of Glastonbury’s iconic dance stage, The Temple. The British media server and lighting controls manufacturer was called in for the third year running by Alan King of Rockin Horse – technical coordinator and production supplier for Block 9 and The Common – who designed and sourced lighting and lasers for The Temple, whilst also keeping an overview on video production.

NEW YORK – Fans don’t settle comfortably into their seats waiting for Metallica to appear on the group’s current WorldWired Tour. Long before the metal icons tear up the stage with their sizzling performance, opening act Volbeat kicks off each evening with a growling aggressive show that leaves complacency crushed in its wake. Setting an appropriately edgy tone for the Danish band’s performance is a stage design built around a boxing theme. Niller Bjerregaard, who helped design the set, also puts some punchy lighting on it with a rig that he controls with a ChamSys MagicQ MQ500 Stadium console.

WIcreations Moves it for Vasco Rossi in Modena

MODENA, ITALY – WIcreations provided StageCo with specialist automation services to move four massive towers onstage at the epic Vasco Rossi concert and spectacle in Modena – the Italian rock superstar’s only scheduled live appearance in 2017 – attended by 250,000 rapturous fans on a blisteringly hot summer’s day in Modena Park. As well as working closely with StageCo, who provided all the black steel for the event, WI’s project manager Hans Willems liaised with Claudio Santucci from Gioforma, the show’s creative director. WIcreations has a long history of collaboration with IK Projects from Milan who provided automation operators and crew for this project.
