Visional Productions Uses Avolites Media Servers for Passion 2017 Youth Conference

LAS VEGAS – For two special Maroon 5 concerts at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on Dec. 30-31, LD Brian Jenkins, who has been handling programming duties in fulfillment of Roy Bennett’s tour design, came up with some new looks using GLP’s X4 Bar 20 fixtures.

MERRILLVILLE, IN — For Dennis DeYoung’s Feb. 11 show at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, IN, LD Matthew Ryan made good use of a tour rig augmented with fixtures from JR Lighting Design that included Rogue RH1 Hybrids from Chauvet Professional.

TORONTO — Zeds Dead, the duo comprised of “DC” (Dylan Mamid) and “Hooks” (Zachary Rapp-Rovan), got a visual assist for their tour in support of their debut album, Northern Lights, from LD Tom Campbell, who used Avolites’ Sapphire Touch console to control the looks.

HOUSTON — LD Bob Barnhart, who has lent his talents to 19 Super Bowl Halftime Shows, included Claypaky Mythos and Sharpy fixtures in the rig used to light Lady Gaga at Super Bowl LI.  Barnhart used 56 Mythos on field truss set against the upstage wall below the first row of seats. The lights were positioned on 2.5-foot spacings from the center of the field out to the 20 yard lines. A grandMA2 console also controlled a portion of the lighting complement at Houston’s NRG Stadium.

SAN FERNANDO, CA — TMB has planned a number of tributes for Tommy Stephenson, who died Feb. 21. In addition to being a longtime employee at TMB, Stephenson, who had to retire in 2013 due to health reasons, was also the company’s first employee. The TMB remembrances will include a toast for Tommy at the company’s USITT booth at the end of opening day, Thursday, March 9.

KNOXVILLE, TN — It’s a small world, especially in Tennessee’s country music circles, and chance encounters between talented people aren’t that uncommon.
