PALMETTO, FL — Feld Entertainment, the producers of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus productions, announced in March 2015 that it would be phasing out the use of live elephants in its productions by 2018. Now, as it turns out, the circus productions themselves will cease. The company says the loss of its elephant acts led to a dramatic drop in ticket sales and that, along with rising costs and battles with animal activists, led to the decision to shut down after 146 years of producing “The Greatest Show on Earth.” The last shows will take place in May.

Medvitz, who chose the G-Spots to create the drama and saturated color quality he was looking for, praised the fixtures for reliability and durability and ability to stand up to California’s winter weather conditions. DRAMMEN, Norway — Rubicon supplied Chauvet Professional and Iluminarc fixtures to light up the two 60-meter high cranes at the mouth of the Drammen river. The project was overseen by the Drammen Port Authority and the opening ceremony/switch on event was aired live by NRK. Pål Erik Gulbrandsen served as project manager at Rubicon and credited the LED fixtures for their brightness and IP ratings that allowed for outdoor use.

NASHVILLE — 2017 started with a bang as Georgia-based rockers Widespread Panic rang in the New Year with an epic three set blowout at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Bandit Lites supplied LD Paul Hoffman with the fixtures he needed for the Dec. 31, 2016 event. Like the concert staged by the band at the same venue the night before, all tickets were sold out. On Dec. 30, the band performed selections from their albums in chronological order. On Dec. 31, the show also featured guest appearances by Love Sponge String Quartet, MegaBlasters Horns and the McCrary Sisters.
