Swiss electric chain hoist manufacturer GIS AG is replacing its LCH series with their LP series. The LP series includes the newly developed LP500, which is designed for a 60 percent boost in lifting capacity, IP65 rating as standard and very quiet running at a maximum 65 dB. Other features of the LP500 (pictured here) well suited for theatre and live events include increased capacity in one fall operation, low dead weight, low noise emission and suitability for outdoor use.

LONDON  – Stephen Daldry’s multi-award winning production of An Inspector Calls has returned to London’s West End. This now famous revival was first performed at the National Theatre in 1992 and has since won 19 major awards across the globe. Lighting designer Rick Fisher has lit the production since its infancy and returns once again for this latest run at the Playhouse Theatre. Fischer approached White Light to provide the lighting equipment, which included quantities of the GLP impression X4 Bar 20s which the company has recently invested in.

Thibault of Life is Art Studios did the Disco Donnie Presents NYE show headlined by dubstep star Ookay at the Fillmore Charlotte. He felt like a self-described “kid in a candy shop” when he saw the beefy collection of Chauvet Professional Rogue fixtures in the house rig.

APG Displays Plays Key Role in Video Upgrade for CNN Shows

ORLANDO — APG Displays played a key role in a video upgrade for CNN’s shows including The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and The Lead with Jake Tapper. The upgrade was completed last year just in time for election season. Key components included 1.2mm and 1.6mm video display technologies from APG Displays, including a 25-foot-wide 1.2mm Leyard LED display, a 108-inch diagonal 1.2mm Leyard LED display and a 30-foot-wide 1.6mm Leyard LED display.

LOS ANGELES  – Descanso Gardens is a botanic garden open to the public and nationally accredited as a “museum of living collections. In a season filled with holiday light displays, Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge, Los Angeles has debuted “Enchanted: Forest of Light,” a unique, interactive nighttime experience.  Visitors enjoy a one-mile walk through eight distinct lighting displays in some of the Gardens’ most beloved areas.  Six MA onPC systems were selected to control the lighting and interactivity for the majority of the displays.

LONDON – In demand lighting and production designer Steven Bewley selected the Claypaky Mythos and Sharpy fixtures to create signature lighting looks for alternative rock band ‘Nothing But Thieves’ on their debut album tour, which ended with a sensational show at London’s iconic O2 Academy Brixton. For the tour’s UK leg Bewley, whose recent production design for rapper Wretch 32 received significant recognition across social media, enlisted 32 x Mythos and 10 x Sharpys from audio and lighting production specialist Nitelites.
