LOS ANGELES – Lighting Designer Jeff Maker (All Time Low, The Dresden Dolls) turned to an Elation LED lighting package for American rock band Pierce the Veil’s recent “Made to Destroy” tour, his second year with the band, and was delighted with the results. “Elation continues to impress me and many of my LD colleagues, which is no surprise,” he said. “We were on tour for 7 weeks (32 shows total) and I didn’t have one issue with any of the units.”

PARIS — On Nov. 13, 2015, gunmen stormed the Bataclan as an Eagles of Death Metal concert was underway. Part of a coordinated terrorist attack on the city that left 130 dead, 90 were killed at the venue. On Nov. 12, 2016, the venue reopened, featuring a concert by Sting. Proceeds from the Sting concert, which sold out in 30 minutes, went to charities helping victims’ families and survivors.

CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Founded in 1969, First Church Coral Springs has grown over the years. The original church—known as Robey Hall—continues to serve a number of important roles on campus, a larger sanctuary was constructed. Lightning is routine in Southern Florida, occasionally causing electrical issues. Such was the case recently, which required the replacement of the church’s projectors—resulting in the deployment of new equipment drawn from the catalog of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA-based Eiki International, Inc.
CHICAGO – The Transportation Gallery at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry is a world-renowned collection of exhibits showcasing the history of transportation in America. Exhibits include a scaled model of the Wright Brothers 1903 flyer, a United Airlines 727, various military aircraft, a diesel locomotive and “The Great Train Story”, a model of the train evolution between Chicago Illinois and Seattle Washington. The gallery was originally lit with incandescent track fixtures with a limited ability to tune the color temperature and a high complexity of maintenance.
LAS VEGAS – At the recent LDI show, Matt Halberstadt, R&D Technical Product Manager, of ETC, presented a check for $30,339.13 to Behind the Scenes, which reflected ongoing proceeds from sales of ETC’s iRFR and aRFR (Radio Focus Remote) applications for iOS and Android devices. ETC software engineers Chris Mizerak and Anders Ekvall simply could not have known when they developed the app that it would bring so much assistance to our colleagues in need.
