LAS VEGAS – LDI 2016 was twice as nice for Chauvet Professional, as the company’s new freestanding theatrical lighting demonstration booth drew large and appreciative crowds throughout the three-day show. Located across the aisle from the CHAUVET Professional main booth, the new demo area highlighted the company’s groundbreaking Ovation LED ellipsoidals, Fresnels, battens and cyc lights, as well as its COLORado wash fixtures.

Rio 2016 Olympics Ceremony Rigs Include Robert Juliat Followspots

RIO de JANEIRO – LD Durham Marenghi included Robert Juliat followspots in his designs for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games. He used 10 Robert Juliat Lancelot 4000W HMI followspots and four Robert Juliat Cyrano 2500W HMI followspots for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Chris Henry, the spot captain employed by Marenghi, worked alongside Agora, the Italian-based lighting supplier for the Ceremonies, and credited the fixtures for their performance.

CT Restructures German Operation

STUTTGART, Germany — Creative Technology (CT) announced changes for its operations in Germany, shifting some work to its bases in the Netherlands, U.K., Spain and beyond but retaining a presence in Stuttgart, Cologne and Berlin. The company also named Mike Dörfling business development director in Stuttgart. Christ Elsten was named managing director for the Netherlands and Germany.
