South Africa’s ‘Groot for the Classics’ Production Lit with Robe Fixtures

LAS VEGAS – Elation is gearing up for LDI with new gear to be featured at the show, which runs from Oct. 20-22 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. At the company’s Booth 2515, featured products will include the Platinum 1200 Wash and three new product series — the Fuze Series of dynamic LED wash lights (pictured here), the ZCL Series of high-output LED effects and the DTW Series of variable white LED lights.

NEW YORK – New York Fashion Week (NYFW) gives the world a sneak peek into the most incredible fashion designs that will be in stores for the upcoming season. Fashion moguls look to outshine one another not only with their new collections but with an elaborate runway show. In comes BLT Productions to make these runway shows possible using gear from 4Wall New York. BLT has been involved with NYFW since the late 1980s in some form or another. This season, BLT provided production services for Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, and Coach, among others.

OWATONNA, MN – Wenger and Secoa have entered into what they call “advanced talks” to combine the two companies, with Secoa becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Wenger.

NASHVILLE – Singer-songwriter sensation Ben Rector is out on the aptly named, “The Biggest Tour I’ve Done So Far” with a lighting package provided by Bandit Lites. His sixth studio album and eponymous hit single Brand New has been dominating the airwaves and climbing the charts, and his enthusiastic fans are turning out to celebrate. Lighting designer Chris Lisle collaborated with Rector to establish what the overall look of the production would be, with emphasis on using 2K fresnels on grip stands in addition to how Martin MAC Vipers would be utilized during the show.”

NASHVILLE – For Grammy-nominated Mutemath’s live shows this year, Jeff Lava of 44 Designs (Nashville) included ÉPIX Strip fixtures from Chauvet Professional.

VIENNA, VA – Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, the only unit of the US National Park Service dedicated to presenting the performing arts, has added multiple grandMA2 lighting consoles to its Filene Center. The Filene Center is the 7,000-seat centerpiece of Vienna, Virginia-based Wolf Trap, which offers multiple amphitheaters for performances staged annually from mid-May to mid-September. A.C.T Lighting, Inc. is the exclusive distributor of MA lighting products in North America.

LOS ANGELES – Ben Rector is out on his biggest tour to date which he has whimsically named “The Biggest Tour I Have Done So Far” tour. The title alone alludes to the increasing popularity of the artist, whose brand of pop/rock ‘music with a purpose’ has resonated with fans. Lighting and production designer is Chris Lisle who is using Elation Professional ACL 360 Bar LED battens to color the singer-songwriter’s show, which is playing dates in the U.S. through October.
