PADERBORN, Germany – For the Jugend Forscht (Young Scientists) competition held at the Schützenhof Paderborn events venue, locally based lighting company Jansen Lichttechnik provided the rig and lights including 20 Clay Paky Sharpy Wash 330s, 16 A.leda Wash K10s, 8 Alpha Spot 800 QWOs and 6 A.leda B-EYE K10s, as well as dot2 products. Marcus Krömer served as lighting designer and on-site operator at the event. Others crew members included Herbert Löser, video production manager; Nils Weber, technical manager; Juri Zitzer, rig manager; and Markus Fuest, “live cutter.”

Users can set interval, duration and pre-delay times, and also control the flow level, turn the unit on or off and diagnose/debug any errors wirelessly. Once connected via Wi-Fi, the G300-SMART also can be monitored and controlled over the Internet through Le Maitre’s evolving Machine Interface Portal.

Coldplay Tours with Visuals Assist from Avolites Ai Media Servers

CHICAGO For Coldplay’s current stadium tour, A Head Full of Dreams, video director Ben Miles chose to work with British manufacturer Avolites and Avolites’ Ai media server distributor and technical specialist RES (Realtime Environment Systems) to design what he describes as ‘the ultimate video system’ for the British rockers. The band performed four shows (June 15, 16, 18 and 19) at London’s Wembley Stadium, pictured here.

Snapsting Festival in Denmark Features Robe Moving Lights

VIBORG, Denmark – For the 2016 edition of Snapsting, a 10-day festival held in Viborg, Denmark every June, local rental company Lystek provided Robe moving lights for the main entertainment stages. Kristoffer Neilsen, a lighting designer who heads up Lystek, worked with Johan Kvartborg to light the event’s main stage with eight Robe MMX Spots, 12 LEDBeam 100s and two ColorStrobes and four LEDWash 600s. For the smaller Nytorv stage, Jesper Levin ran a rig including eight LEDBeam 100s and four Pointes, and eight LEDWash 600s lit that stage’s Skyliner roof structure. Lystek deployed more Robes, including DLS Profiles, more Pointes and LEDBeams, for the festival, which featured 260 performances and activities, mostly for free, around the city.

RGB GmbH Uses GLP Fixtures for Big Print Media Trade Fair in Germany

DUSSELDORF, Germany -– drupa, a major trade event for the print media industry, took place recently at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre.  For the first time, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG enlisted the creative and technical services of rgb gmbh to boost their presentation. CEO Dirk Feuerstein relied on tried and tested fixtures, deploying 112 GLP impression X4 L and 26 impression X4 Bar 10 & 20 as the mainstay of the production, within the company’s large booth.

BERLIN, Germany – Freelance LD Rick Kay used GLP X4 S and X1 fixtures to light British poet and spoken word performer Anne Clark on a tour through Germany, with stops in Belgium and the Netherlands. Sono Uses Christie Boxer Projectors for Mapped Projection on Spanish Monastery

SALAMANCA, Spain — In 1524, the Dominican Order built the Monastery of San Esteban in Salamanca, a building combining Gothic and Baroque styles with a Plateresque façade. Nearly 500 years later, this façade was mapped for the Festival de Luz y Vanguardias held earlier this year for the first time. Three Christie Boxer 4K30 projectors, managed by the rental and staging company Sono, lit up the façade with an impressive mapped projection, makeing use of a combined  90,000 lumens of projected light.

Gary Allan Tours with Elite Multimedia-Supplied Lighting, Video Elements

NASHVILLE – Elite Multimedia is supplying the lighting and LED video for country music artist Gary Allan’s current tour in support of his new single, “Do You Wish it Was Me?” Brandon Quisberg, who is serving as production manager on the tour, worked with stage manager Alex Stegall to finalize the tour design, which was geared for touring efficiency and visual impact. Key components of the design include Elation CuePix panels for the band risers along with Vari-Lite VL3000s, Clay Paky Sharpys and Philips LED NITRO strobes on the overhead GT Tyler truss. The video setup includes a PixelFLEX LED FLEXCurtain HD elements and eight custom LED tubes.

Cherry Moon Celebrates 25 Years in Belgium, Lighting Rig Includes Robe Fixtures

ANTWERP, Belgium – For an event at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp celebrating Belgian venue Cherry Moon’s 25th anniversary, LD Steven Couliez designed the lighting, video and structural set elements to go with an evening devoted to techno, trance, house and retro sounds. Nachtcollective created the video content, and Belgian lighting rental company Splendit supplied a rig that included Robe Pointes, CycFX 8s and LEDBeam 100s.
