Developed to give lighting designers more scope and inspiration to enhance their work, the AlienPix-RS provides six extraordinary beams of light and eight continuous rotational axes. AlienPix-RS is formed of five spot heads surrounding a central disk, each of which contains a tight, 3.5-degree RGBW LED emitter. Each emitter has a center-beam luminous intensity of over 180 candelas per lumen and can be controlled individually. The five surrounding spot heads can each tilt continuously as the main saucer with central emitter pans, tilts and rotates in any direction. Powerful tri-phase stepper motors allow fast, accurate and silent positioning. In total AlienPix-RS can simultaneously perform up to eight multi-directional continuous rotations and deliver a total light output up to 6,000 lumens/1,080,000 cd. The fixture is well suited for crazy configurations of light, color and movement that redefine the mid-air space.

A week of activities at the Avoriaz ski resort culminates in three days of music in an intimate 4,000 capacity boutique festival for lovers of snow sports, dance music and great vibes. 2016 was the first year that Fineline has been involved as a technical supplier. Stu England designed the rigs for both areas, which were based on being flexible to give all the artists as many options as possible for their sets to look individual and interesting.
Read More »QUINCY, WA – The Sasquatch! Music Festival at the Gorge Amphitheater celebrated its 15th year with headlining sets from Disclosure, Major Lazer, The Cure (pictured here), Sufjan Stevens (pictured below), and Florence and the Machine. Stageworks Seattle provided lighting design and production on the main stage. The flown lighting rig was used by almost all of the headlining bands with minimal augmentation. The rig featured Martin MAC Viper Wash DX, Viper Profiles, Elation Platinum Beams, LED strobes, and 93,600 watts of DWE blinders. The gear was provided by Christie Lites’ Seattle office.

Following Phase 1 of the competition, three teams will be whisked away to the Live Finals, set for Friday Oct. 21 at 5pm on the High End Systems booth at LDI in Las Vegas. The finalists will compete to win a $20,000 scholarship and Hog 4 for their University as well as each a HedgeHog 4X for themselves.
Read More »AUSTIN, TX — Although it has rarely been praised before for its aesthetic appeal, the abandoned Austin Downtown Post Office generated more than a few double-takes after Bryan Azar and designers Adam Crankshaw and Alex Soto of ILIOS Lighting Design used 300 ÉPIX Strip 2.0 units with domes to add visual interest for the Samsung Galaxy Life Fest, which took place during SXSW 2016. Most of the 1-meter strips were mounted on the ceiling to form a chevron pattern over the dance floor. The remaining strips were used to created lines and borders around the on-stage truss lines.
Read More »BELFAST, Northern Ireland — More than 3,500 revelers partied ’til the small hours at for the legendary dance event Cream Tours at Belfast’s T13 warehouse on Saturday, April 30. Event promoter Notorious Parties welcomed the return of the iconic night with its cast of DJing elite including; dance music giant John O’Callaghan, Bryan Kearney, Will Atkinson, Standerwick, Agnelli and Nelson and Anthony Probyn. Event lighting designer John McGuinness of Just Lite Productions looked after the lighting for the event. The control setup included Avolites’ Sapphire Touch, Tiger Touch II and Fader Wing, Quartz, Ai Infinity media server and ART2000 48″ Dimmer racks.
Read More »JACKSONVILLE, FL – The NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars recently announced that NanoLumens, a manufacturer of LED displays, has been selected to outfit the newly renovated US Assure Clubs inside EverBank Field with new video gear. NanoLumens will be installing six 2.5mm NanoSlim Engage displays across both the East and West US Assure Clubs, including a screen in each lower club area measuring 19 feet by 11 feet.
