Canberra Theatre Centre Upgrades with ETC and Sound Advice

CANBERRA, Australia – The Canberra Theatre Centre (CTC) recently upgraded their lighting systems with an assist from staging and lighting specialists Sound Advice and Jands-supplied ETC fixtures. The CTC is made up of three venues: the 1,200-seat Canberra Theatre, a traditional proscenium arch theatre; the 600-seat Playhouse; and the 100-seat Courtyard Studio. A total of 248 fixtures made up the CTC upgrade including 10° ellipsoidal luminaires, 15-30° zoom ellipsoidal luminaires and 25-50° compact zoom ellipsoidal luminaires.

BURBANK, CA — U.K.-based Green Hippo announced plans to open a U.S. office in Burbank, CA. The location, the company’s first international office, is set to open in Jan. 2016. It will be the headquarters location for Green Hippo U.S Inc., a subsidiary tasked with supporting the company’s growth in the Americas.

Dance Afrique Festival in Dubai Lit with Robe Fixtures

DUBAI, UAE – The 2015 Dance Afrique Festival, staged Oct. 8 at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai, featured Akon from Senegal, Congolese musician Awilo Logombia, singer-songwriter Flavour from Nigeria and other African artists. Dubai- and UK-based LD Steve Shipman, who had designed the lighting for the same show in London in August, used 12 Robe BMFL Spots and more than 120 Robe moving lights in all.

Colour Sound Supplies Lights & LED Screens to MiNT Festival

LEEDS, U.K. – For the the six main tented arenas at the 2015 MiNT Festival, which moved to a new location at Wetherby Racecourse near Leeds and also moved to a new two-day schedule Sept. 19-20, Colour Sound Experiment provided rigging, trussing, lighting and LED screens. The artist lineup included Duke Dumont, The Martinez Brothers, Sigma, Sven Vath, Jamie Jones, Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos and more.
