The 2023 Creative Arts Emmy Honorees

The 75th annual Creative Arts Emmy Awards were held on January 6 and 7, 2024. They had been originally scheduled for September 2023, but were postponed due to Hollywood labor disputes. The ceremonies, honoring the artists and craftspeople behind the technical achievement were held at the Peacock Theater (formerly, the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA. Highlights from the events were shown on FXX on Saturday, January 13 and now available to stream on Hulu.

Soweto Theatre Invests in Robe ESPRITES

The colorful, funky, eye-catching architecture of the Soweto Theatre stands at the center of Jabulani, an area fast developing into a bustling future CBD. For the last 10 years, the venue, designed by Afritects, has provided a buzzing performing arts hub and forum for creative expression reaching into the heart of the local community. In 2023, the lighting department, headed by Nkululeko Mazibuko, received 12 new Robe ESPRITE moving lights as part of a technical upgrade which was coordinated by the venue’s technical manager, Lebugang Andrew Mnisi. The lights were delivered by Robe’s South African distributor, DWR, and join the original Robe LEDWash 300 and 600E Spot moving lights that have been working hard in the theatre since it opened in 2012, together with the LEDBeam 150s that were purchased in 2019.Read More »Soweto Theatre Invests in Robe ESPRITES

P!nk’s songs have always had an edge, but her shows never get too dark. “A part of the whole ethos of the ‘Summer Carnival’ is to keep it light, keep it fun,” says Baz Halpin, CEO & Founder of Silent House, who served as Creative Director and Producer for the ongoing tour. Bright colors and silliness aren’t the only aspects of P!nk’s shows, the artist also defies gravity. Along with the artist’s aerial skills, she has been performing her hit, “Trustfall”, with a mesmerizing act involving staircases and trampoline artists.
