LAS VEGAS, NV — The 2014 ILDA Conference, held at the Riviera Hotel & Casino Nov. 17-20, included an awards banquet Nov. 19 with multiple laser show categories and winners. The Fenning Award for Technical Achievement (pictured here) went to Pangolin for its Compact 506 optical scanner. Pangolin also noted that many of the other laser shows winning recognition at the awards ceremony made use of its laser display software and control hardware products.

ATLANTA – Atlanta’s Perimeter Center district houses two of the tallest buildings in the suburban U.S., the Concourse Corporate Center IV and V, affectionately known as Atlanta’s “King and Queen Buildings” due to the ornate steel “crowns” atop each structure.  Situated on the intersection of two of Georgia’s busiest highways and measuring, respectively, 570 and 553 feet tall, the King and Queen structures each feature brightly lit upper floors, thanks in part to Iluminarc’s Ilumipanel 90 and Ilumipanel 180 fixtures.

Coheed and Cambria Tour with Clay Paky, grandMA Gear

LOS ANGELES — Coheed and Cambria, the American progressive rock band with concept albums chronicling the sci-fi Amory Wars in an imagined universe dubbed Heaven’s Fence, performed 25 shows last fall lit by Clearwing’s Michael “Greek” Hionis, the show’s LD/lighting director/programmer. The rig, controlled with a grandMA2 light and grandMA OnPC system, included a complement of Clay Paky A.leda B-EYE K20s and Sharpy fixtures. Clearwing Productions provide gear for the shows, most of which sold out, in two dozen U.S. cities and Toronto.

Alberta PAC Installs LED Rig Including ETC Source Four LED Series 2 Lustr Fixtures

CAMROSE, Alberta, Canada – The Jeanne & Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre (PAC) is a 44,200-square-foot, multi-venue building. The venue earned a level-four Green Globe distinction for its energy-efficient building design and commitment to green technology before its doors even opened in October 2014. Christie Lites provided the venue with an LED lighting rig, including nearly 100 ETC Source Four LED Series 2 Lustr luminaires. As the largest Source Four LED Series 2 Lustr installation in the world, the venue is able to save between $30,000 and $35,000 each year in energy costs from the lighting system alone. The venue is also using ETC’s Gio console for control.
