Delstar Engineering Supplies Scenic Structure for “Anne” at Theater Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM – In Dec. 2013, Stage Technologies’ sister company Delstar Engineering was commissioned to provide a huge scenic structure for the set of Anne, a new play about the life of Anne Frank. Produced by Imagine Nation, with set design by Bernhard Hammer and directed by Theu Boermans, the play is performed at the new Theater Amsterdam, a purpose built venue in the Westerlijke Houthavens district of Amsterdam.

25th Anniversary of Berlin Wall Dismantling Includes GLP Fixtures

BERLIN, Germany – A celebration at Brandenburg Gate commemorating the dismantling of the Berlin Wall 25 years ago included a light show designed by Bjorn Hermann that included GLP fixtures. Some 8,000 helium balloons were released. Hermann, commissioned by show director, Sven Sören Beyer of phase7, used GLP’s X4 impression LED fixtures to help light up the night sky. Mediapool Event Services GmbH supplied the fixtures, complementing the gear supplied by PRG for the main event.

Halloween Goes EDM with Elation Rig at Fear Fest in Tucson

TUCSON, AZ – Creative BackStage of Phoenix used an Elation lighting and video package as a main element of their visual design for Fear Fest, an EDM festival that took place Nov. 1 at The Slaughterhouse in Tucson. Fear Fest combined high-energy dance music from featured DJ’s with the thrills of three different haunted houses, all in one entertaining, spooky-themed festival.

PRAGUE, Czech Republic – Herbalife’s “Extravaganza” convention drew a total audience of close to 54,000 people to the O2 Arena in Prague this year. A design team that included technical manager Alessandro Giangi, LDs Luca Casadei and Claudio Tappi and set designers Emilia Covotta and Raffaele Persico wowed the crowd with a lighting rig that included D.T.S.’ Wonder moving lights. Held at the O2 Arena, the men’s professional tennis competition included top-ranked singles players and doubles teams. Players compete for Emirates ATP Rankings points throughout the season in a bid to earn one of the eight coveted berths and a chance to win the $2,075,000 top prize.

Austin City Limits Music Festival Setup Includes Clay Paky Fixtures, grandMA Consoles

AUSTIN, TX – The Austin City Limits Music Festival returned to Zilker Park for two three-day weekends in October to showcase more than 130 rock, pop and hip hop artists on eight stages, including Outkast, Beck, Eminem, Skrillex, Calvin Harris and Pearl Jam.  Clay Paky A.leda B-EYE K20 and Sharpy fixtures and grandMA2 consoles were on hand to provide lighting support and control for festival performers.  A.C.T Lighting, Inc. is the exclusive distributor of Clay Paky lighting and MA products in North America. Eight K20s, supplied by LD Systems, were dedicated to each of two secondary headline stages and positioned in an upstage array across the rear truss.

ADDISON, TX – The Addison Theatre Centre, home of the WaterTower Theatre, has invested in ArKaos MediaMaster Pro 4.0 software which it recently utilised on the WaterTower Theatre Company’s production of Bonnie and Clyde.
