MILAN, Italy — Piazza della Scala, near Milan’s opera house, lit up with a holiday-themed son et lumière show titled Polvere di Stelle (stardust). It ran Dec. 16-Jan. 7. Working for the Milan City Council and others, show designer Sebastiano Romano used seven Clay Paky Alpha Profile 1500s to project images of stars along with greetings in different languages over the entire square and on the façades of surrounding buildings.

It was recorded in front of a live audience at Londerzeel Studios and broadcast weekly on Belgium’s national TV channel, VRT. The grandMA2-controlled lighting rig included 38 Clay Paky Sharpys, 12 Robe LEDWash 600s, 72 Showtec Spectral M800 LED fixtures, 45 Fresnels (1K and 2K) and 24 Showtec Active Sunstrips.
