FORT WORTH, TX – At USITT’s 2014 Annual Conference & Stage Expo, set to take place at the Fort Worth Convention Center March 26-29, set designer Eugene Lee will be honored for more than 50 years of work in both broadcast and live theater. Lee will participate in a panel, USITT Distinguished Award Winners in Conversation, on Friday morning, March 28, and receive his award in a special session later that day.

PHOENIX — Bill O’Neil, a freelance lighting designer based in the Phoenix area, died recently. His career in lighting spanned 34 years. O’Neil got his start in the business as a freelance lighting professional in Jan. 1980. From Dec. 1995 to Jan. 2008, he served as a lighting designer/director and project manager/technical director for Swank Audio Visuals. O’Neil had been working as a freelance lighting designer since Jan. 2008, working often with Precise Corporate Staging, among others.
