Electrosonic Announces Appointment of Steve Leyland as Executive Chairman of the Board

LONDON – AV company Electrosonic named Steve Leyland executive chairman of the board. Leyland has been a non-executive director and advisor on the Electrosonic board since July 2015 and has worked for many leading global technology companies during his career. Philip Aminoff, who has served as chairman of the Electrosonic board for the last 14 years, remains a director of the board, and chairman of Electrosonic’s parent company Helectron Oy Ab.

Pentatonix 2016 World Tour Rig Includes Elation ACL 360i

ARLINGTON, TX — A cappella group Pentatonix have been touring with a lighting design where Elation Professional’s compact ACL 360i beam effect light plays a key role.  Production designer Sooner Routhier of SRae Productions used many of the fixture’s features for the Grammy-winning group. After their U.S. dates, Pentatonix toured Europe and are heading to Japan and Australia/New Zealand this summer. The band will resume touring the U.S. in October.

LONDON – A promotional film for the 2016 BBC Proms, an eight-week summer season of daily orchestral classical music concerts and other events that starts on July 15, features performance artist and cellist Sol Gabetta debuting her performance of Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E minor. It also features video imagery projection-mapped onto the surface of Gabetta’s cello, the smallest surface area that the team at 59 Productions has ever mapped.

MOSCOW— For Red Bull Wrong Side, a touring show featuring Jack’s Garret, a nine person modern dance troupe, LD Evgeny Romakhin worked with a Martin M6 console to provide a special mood for each moment of the original, jointly choreographed work. The six-month tour culminated in a sold out series of shows at Moscow’s Pushkin Drama Theatre. Romakhin’s Martin-controlled rig also included Martin lighting fixtures: 38 MAC Aura XBs, 18 MAC 700 Profiles, two Atomic 3000 DMXs and a MAC Viper Profile. Russia-based Laser-Kinetics supplied the gear.
