Marburg b(u)y Night Sets Medieval Castle, Other German Landmarks Aglow

MARBURG, Germany – Every year, during Marburg b(u)y Night, Marburg city center lights up: more than sixty public and private buildings become the stars of the show, and the shops stay open until midnight. The centerpiece of the event this year was the “Blickpunkt Schloss” project: the medieval landgraves’ castle was lit up on the hour and half hour starting from 6 pm with a time coded light and music show. Flashlight Veranstaltungstechnik GmbH saw to the event’s lighting needs. LD/programmer/operator Sebastian Haffer used 39 Clay Paky Mythos units with a grandMA light and onPC command wing for control.

NASHVILLE – For country act Maddie & Tae, LD Larry Foote is providing a multitude of distinctive lighting looks with one fixture: the Nexus 4×4 COB LED panel from Chauvet Professional. Foote positioned the Nexus panels on upstage pipe and base stands. The ability to light individual cells on each fixture in different configurations allows for the same fixtures to provide many different looks and effects.

WASHINGTON, DC – John Farr, president and CEO of John Farr Lighting Design, oversees event design and production services for events at Washington DC’s most prominent venues. He was impressed with the Ovation E-910FC RGBA-Lime color mixing ellipsoidal from Chauvet Professional and opted to add it to his company’s inventory. The fixtures can be seen here lighting the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC

LOS ANGELES – For Jason Derulo’s performance during the 42nd People’s Choice Awards, Clay Paky Scenius fixtures served as the main effects lights.  The event, which honored achievement in 2015, were held January 6, 2016 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and broadcast live on CBS.  Emmy-winner Allen Branton was the show’s lighting designer; Felix Peralta, Kevin Lawson and Darren Langer were the lighting directors.
