Staples Center Installs Light Vector Lasers

LOS ANGELES – Image Engineering recently installed four LV50 and two LV60 Light Vector scanning laser projectors and associated hardware in the Staples Center. This laser installation is now a permanent fixture in the arena, delivering more than 300 watts of white light laser power. The laser effects can be programmed entirely from a conventional lighting console.

I’m going on record here to say that I really like that LDI is during October and still in Vegas. November was always too close to Thanksgiving. It meant spending two different weeks every month away from home. As far as the town, well, it’s Vegas baby. There’s always plenty to see and plenty to eat, and you can hang out with adults. When I’m at LDI, I want to be the kid in the candy store. I don’t want to be Dad. I go to Orlando and California with my kids when I want to be an adult.

In Memoriam: Nathalie Jardin, 31

PARIS — Nathalie Jardin, 31, died Nov. 13, one of the victims of the terrorist attack at the Bataclan performance venue in Paris. Jardin, who had worked as a lighting and stage manager at the venue for the last three years, also served as LD for bands including Les Fatals Picards, Les Nuits Secrètes and Marcel and His Orchestra.
