Kabuki Spectacular Planned for Bellagio Fountains Using Panasonic Gear

LAS VEGAS – Panasonic will present with Shochiku, renowned global Kabuki producer, with support from MGM Resorts International, an elaborate, high-tech outdoor performance unlike anything Las Vegas or the U.S. has ever seen. The show will feature a Kabuki-style theatrical event with larger-than-life animation and water choreography in the Kabuki masterpiece Koi-Tsukami, or Fight with a Carp, as a large fish and turbulent sea are projected onto the Bellagio Hotel Fountains in a battle scene.

KISS Tours Europe with 30 Elation Platinum Beam 5R Fixtures

MUNICH, Germany – KISS recently brought their elaborate live show to Europe this summer, kicking off its 40th Anniversary European Tour May 30 in Munich’s Olympic Park and wrapping up June 22 in Madrid. LD Sean Hackett’s lighting design included 30 Elation Professional Platinum Beam 5R moving heads supplied by Christie Lites. Production design was by Robert Long and Sooner Routhier.

A recent shipment of ETC Source Four LED Series 2 Lustr arrays has been checked in, tested and stenciled with the Royce emblem. A compelling demo of the technology last fall by Outreach and Training Specialist Tom Littrell was enough to prompt an order for 18 Series 2 light engines, nine Source Four LED CYC adapters and nine Source Four LED Fresnels.

Philips Lighting Brands On Display at Mediatech Africa 2015

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – Philips’ entertainment lighting brands Vari-Lite and Strand Lighting, along with the Showline product range, were on display for the three-day Mediatech Africa exhibition in Johannesburg. Philips’ Martin Palmer, pictured here, supported the DWR Distribution team on stand to offer visitors in-depth product knowledge and demos. Philips exhibited the Vari-Lite VL4000 Series, Strand Lighting NEO and 500ML Consoles and the Showline SL NITRO 510 and 510C LED strobes.
