In Memoriam: Patrick Stansfield, 70

Patrick Stansfield, 70, tour manager for Neil Diamond, the Rolling Stones, Barbra Streisand, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, the Grateful Dead, Santana, Tina Turner and scores of others, died in the early morning hours on Oct. 28, 2014 from kidney failure. Along with his prominence in concert touring, Stansfield was the production mastermind behind the transformation of Dodgers and Yankee Stadiums for papal visits in 1987 and 2008 and was co-founder of the Parnelli Awards, named in memory of his good friend Rick “Parnelli” O’Brien. He was surrounded by family and friends at the Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center here in the days before his death.

LAS VEGAS — When the 2014 Parnelli Awards take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas Nov. 22, it will be the 14th time the event has been staged, and the first time Patrick Stansfield will not be able to attend. Stansfield died Oct. 28 in Burbank, CA at age 70. While his physical absence will be conspicuous, the 2014 event — and those to come — will remain infused with Stansfield’s passion for excellence, a lasting legacy that will be plainly evident everywhere you turn.

NEWPORT, RI – For a recent corporate event, JDI Productions accented the architecture of historically significant Fort Adams here. Mark Kuepker, JDI Productions’ project manager for the event, noted how Chauvet Professional’s WELL 2.0 fixtures met the strategic needs of the project. Even though the historic fort had ample power supplies, Kuepker noted that the battery-powered fixtures were easy to set up and eliminated the possibility that guests might trip on power cords.

Church of the Highlands Upgrades with Martin Professional Lighting

BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Church of the Highlands now has 10 locations and more than 30,000 active members. When it came time to upgrade the lighting on its 10 campuses, the megachurch turned to Martin Professional Lighting. The main campus deploys Martin’s MAC Viper moving head luminaires and MAC 250 wash lights. Martin’s MAC 101s are also used at each of the church’s locations.
