SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – For Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz world tour stop at Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot on Sept. 11, Musique Xpress Lights provided Chauvet Professional fixtures. The gear, including 44 Q-Wash 560Z-LED moving washes and 48 COLORado Batten 72 Tour LED linear wash fixtures, was chosen and approved by both LD Sean Burke and LD Richard Vicens of Musique Xpress Lights.

GoVision Acquires Content Provider Graystone Media

ARGYLE, TX – GoVision LP, based here, announced that it has acquired Graystone Media, a Portland, OR-based provider of graphics, production services and live-event content for large video screens and event venues. Graystone Media was founded in 2007 by Josh Echo-Hawk. The transaction gives GoVision another physical presence on the West coast, following its February acquisition of the assets of Los Angeles-based InnoVision Media Group. A GoVision spokesman noted that all Graystone Media employees have been retained.

BROOKLYN, NY – Absolut Vodka staged four events this fall, in New York, Johannesburg, Berlin and Sao Paulo. Called “Nights by Absolut,” the events drew crowds with well-known DJs, effectively creating a vibrant one-night club scene. The lighting gear chosen for the New York event, staged in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, included Clay Paky Sharpy and B-Eye K20 fixtures with grandMA2 consoles for control – all distributed in the U.S. by A.C.T Lighting.

DOHA, Qatar – LD Milad Masaad used more than 300 Robe fixtures to light the 2014 Adha Festival staged at the Souq Waqef here. The rig, lighting a stage structure assembled for the festival, included an overhead rig with 40 Pointes, 30 LEDBeam 100s, 24 LEDWash 600s, 12 LEDWash 1200s and 22 REDWash 3?192s and a floor package with 11 MMX Spots, 16 ColorBeam 2500E ATs and another 60 LEDForce 18s.

Australia’s “Footy Show” Martin-Centered Rig Includes MAC Quantum Washes

SYDNEY — For the Nine Network’s Footy Show, a TV sports program covering pro rugby games, lighting supervisor Andrew Veitch works to ensure that there are no visual fumbles on the set. For the NRL Grand Final Footy Show, he was also able to use 32 new MAC Quantum Wash fixtures along with 52 Martin MAC Viper Profiles and more than 100 Martin MAC101s to light the show. Chameleon Touring Systems supplied the gear.
