ATLANTA – NanoLumens CEO Rick Cope, a military veteran himself, led a company initiative to equip a wounded veteran’s home with HDTV. NanoLumens donated three LED HD displays for a new home for wounded veteran Mike Schlitz, which was formally dedicated on Oct. 1. The new home, in Columbus, GA, was provided through the Gary Sinise Foundation.
I have attended perhaps five LDI conventions over the years. Usually I see a lot of rehashed products mixed in with a few new ideas. 2014 seemed to bring a big reversal in this trend; I viewed so many new products that I felt like a kid in Disneyland. With more than 300 exhibitors and 8,000 people in attendance, it was certainly a packed house. There was never a dull moment as I ventured from booth to booth.

The theatrical design firm worked with Barton Myers (design architect), HKS Architects (executive architect) and Baker Barrios (associate architect) on the venue, which features the 2,700-seat Walt Disney Theater and 299-seat Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater housed within a 330,000 square foot building.
