BATON ROUGE, LA – For Parkview Baptist Church here, Elation dealer Advanced Audio & Stage Lighting helped facilitate an energy-efficient lighting upgrade with TVL Series white light LEDs, color changing Opti Par LEDs and Design LED Par lights. Advanced Audio’s Bo Bowen, Ryan Rushing and Blaine Wilkins worked with lighting designer and trainer Zac Crotwell on the project, with an assist from Chris Rowinsky of JROW Electric and Jay Cid with PSLP.

XL Video Supports Volvo V40 U.K. Road Show

GLASGOW, U.K. — Working with marketing agency Arnold KLP and creative production agency DesignScene, XL Video supplied an LED video wall for the Volvo V40 promotional roadshow currently being shown in some of the UK’s largest shopping malls. Through June and July 2014, the promotional display featuring the LED video wall visited the Bullring in Birmingham, Metro Centre in Gateshead, Cabot Circus in Bristol and finished up at the Silverburn in Glasgow.

EMLEY, UK — Lighting designer James Bawn specified Clay Paky Sharpys to crown his colorful lighting design for Kirklees’ Arqiva Tower, known locally as the Emley Mast, during the opening of the Tour de France celebrations in Yorkshire. The ten Clay Paky Sharpy fixtures, supplied by Blackburn based rental company HSL, beamed out from the tower’s 272m high control room, creating dramatic aerial effects across the skies above Yorkshire’s Emley Moor.

Christie Donates and Installs Gear for San Diego’s Museum Of Photographic Arts

SAN DIEGO – Christie donated projection gear for the 226-seat Joan and Irwin Jacobs Theatre at the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA) here. Christie’s professional services team also handled the installation. The new Christie Solaria Series DCI-compliance based system includes both Christie’s Solaria One projector and alternative content powered by a Christie SKA-3D cinema processor. The new system replaces a first-generation Christie digital cinema projector.

SUN VALLEY, CA – GLP US Inc. has announced a new technical training program which will take place at their headquarters here in the Los Angeles area. The purpose of this program is to provide an in depth technical training to moving light technicians of qualified dealers and/or qualified end user customer/owners of GLP moving light fixtures. The bi-monthly program launches Oct. 6-8, 2014 and continues Dec. 8-10, 2014. The program is structured so that participants can attend all three days or just a single day.

U.K. Tour for Wicked and London Revival for Miss Saigon Relying on ETC Control Solutions

LONDON – The U.K. tour of Wicked (pictured here) and the West End revival of Miss Saigon both relied upon an Eos Ti system to control their complex lighting rigs. For Wicked, ETC dealer PRG provided Ti, Ion and Gio consoles, Remote Processor Units (RPU3), and a Remote Video Interface (RVI) along with a variety of lighting fixtures. For Miss Saigon, the setup included two Ti desks and an Ion console, and LD Bruno Poet and programmer Warren Letton credited the recent Eos-family software update for helping things go smoothly.
