U.K. Tour for Wicked and London Revival for Miss Saigon Relying on ETC Control Solutions

NASHVILLE — Little Big Town is hitting the road again this year with the band’s biggest production so far. The 2014 tour rig, supplied by Bandit Lites, includes 28 of Bandit’s recently-acquired Ayrton MagicPanel 602 matrix-style LED fixtures, as specified by tour LD Chris Shrom.

FORT WORTH, TX – The popularity of the app that USITT created for its annual Conference & Stage Expo, held here in late March, has led to the creation of an app that can be used by USITT members year-round. “When we had more than 4,000 downloads from people wanting up to date information about our Conference, we knew we had to find a way to make that happen year-round,” said David Grindle, USITT executive director. USITT 365 is available for most mobile technologies, from iPads to Androids, and is available from links at the association’s website.

DETROIT  — More than 1,400 of Harman’s Martin Professional lighting fixtures were used at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, including booths for Chrysler, Nissan, Infiniti, Ford, Lincoln, Acura and Volvo.

SAGINAW, MI – As part of an upgrade to The Red Room at the Dow Event Center here, Jeremy Sinicki of Bandit Lites specified a rig that includes 24 COLORado 1-Quad Tour compact washes, four Q-Wash 419Z-LED moving yoke washes and six COLORado Batten 72 Tour linear units from Chauvet Professional.

LOS ANGELES – Microsoft’s press conference for its Xbox offerings at the E3 video gaming convention, held at the Galen Center here shortly before the convention got underway, featured 136 Elation ELAR Q1 color changing Par light fixtures. The ELAR Q1s were used to enhance the set from two locations, the first a grid of 100 fixtures directly behind the Xbox logo, covering most of the upstage scenic; and the other on the set’s traveling scenic walls, where 36 fixtures were used to create accents and wisps of green highlights on the set structure.

NEW YORK – Atomic Design and WorldStage partnered on the upfront for Turner Entertainment at Madison Square Garden. Atomic Design was responsible for the lighting, rigging, production design, staging and set fabrication for this latest presentation to marketers and advertisers while WorldStage supplied video support.

LAS VEGAS – For an outdoor poolside stage at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino here, LD Christopher Lose opted for 10 of SGM’s G-Spot LED moving heads along with four Q-7 RGBW fixtures for wash lighting and strobe effects.  Lose chose the fixtures for their bright output, versatility and promise at standing up to Las Vegas’ harsh desert conditions, including extreme heat in summer, chilly winter temperatures and rare (but sudden) rainstorms.
