KNOXVILLE, TENN.-  Headlined by country music superstar Sara Evans, the Red, White & Rock event benefited the American Red Cross. Bandit Lites’ Director of Philanthropy, Allison Burchett was the event chair this year following being on the Red White & Rock committee last year. In addition to providing all of the production for the Sara Evans performance, Bandit Lites also oversaw production of the Scripps Networks company meeting and a Women in Cable Telecommunications event, all within the same studio and within 48 hours of one another.

LAS VEGAS — The Parnelli Board of Advisors has announced that Benny Collins, production/tour manager for Michael Jackson and Journey, will receive the live event industry’s highest honor, the Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award, at the annual gala ceremony in Las Vegas Nov. 22. Three PLASA Standards Posted for Public Review

NEW YORK — Three draft standard have been added to PLASA’s public review website. They include BSR E1.31 – 201x (lightweight streaming protocol for transport of DMX512 using ACN); BSR E1.37-2 – 201x (additional message sets for ANSI E1.20 (RDM) –Part 2, IPv4 & DNS configuration messages); and BSR E1.39 – 201x (selection and use of personal fall arrest systems on portable structures). The addition of the three standards, with reviews that run through June 30, brings the current total to six.
