LD Chris Lose Turns to Clay Paky, grandMA for Vegas Awards Shows
LAS VEGAS – For the Interactive Achievement Awards at the D.I.C.E. Summit, honoring video game designers within the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino here Feb. 6, LD and programmer Chris Lose pixelmapped the entire stage with stock graphics and custom content cued by a grandMA2 console. The pixelmapping enhanced sets crafted by creative director Chris Wu. The console also drove the lighting rig, which included Clay Paky Alpha Spot HPE 1500 fixtures. Lose used the same brand of fixtures and console for AVN Awards, held a few weeks earlier at the same casino.
ETC Cobalt 10 Lighting Console
ETC’s Cobalt 10 lighting console shares some of the same features as the company’s larger Cobalt 20 desk, including short commands and on-the-fly lighting control. But as ETC notes of its more compact Cobalt 10, those features can now be accessed in a road-ready, portable package. Those compact dimensions are also a boon for fitting the Cobalt 10 into control rooms with limited space.

Toronto’s Cinema, a Nightclub, Installs Chauvet DJ Gear
TORONTO – The Cinema club in Toronto’s Liberty Village isn’t located in a former movie theater. Instead, its creators chose the name because they wanted a club that evoked “big screen” looks. An example can be seen on the ceiling over Cinema’s second story dance floor. There, a metallic looking structure houses 16 Intimidator Beam LED 350 moving heads from Chauvet DJ.

Design Concept: “Our show is all about the music. We don’t carry any of our own lighting gear so I have designed a lighting plot that is flexible in many venues. We use moving lights whenever available however our lighting plot is conventionals only. I lean towards an asymmetrical look in the background, I find that more interesting. Our show is a theatrical piece. I am trying to create a mood.”
