LD Marc Janowitz Specs GLP X4s on My Morning Jacket Tour
LOS ANGELES – Production Designer/LD Marc Janowitz specified 50 GLP impression X4s on My Morning Jacket’s US tour. The tour is using a festoon-like hanging system. There are 10 soft, swooped hanging positions suspended between the trusses in the overhead grid, with five of the X4s on each. These festoons travel pre-rigged and cabled, and once the grid is hung, they can be fully deployed in about 10 minutes.

BRATISLAVA, Slovak Republic – LD Martin Kubanka used Robe moving lights to illuminate Slovak Republic’s 2012 ‘Face of The Year’ contest and gala evening, which was broadcast live on national channel STV1. His role was to not only light the set but also to make the models competing in the event look their best. He worked closely with set designer Dano Sichma for this show. Slovakian rental company Q-99 supplied the gear.

SAN FRANCISCO – LD Brock Hogan specified 28 Robe LEDWash 600s for Train’s recent US tour, supplied by Orlando-based LMG. Hogan first used LMG’s initial batch of LEDWash 600s on last year’s Good Charlotte tour. From the outset, he had the LEDWash’s individual ring control in mind to use for some specific effects in particular songs. He programmed and ran all lighting via a grandMA2.

Tomlinson followed a ‘less is more’ approach, filling the gaps for the camera shots and lighting the stage and audience in a visual onslaught. HSL supplied 60 Clay Paky Sharpys, which were attached to the bottom of the video pods.
