LD/ programmer Sean Burke is using VARI-LITE VL3500 Wash FX and VL3000 Spot luminaires from Upstaging to shine a light on the artist and her stage full of dancers, as well as cut through the bright ambient light created from the LED video screens.

An Opening Night Celebration at Cowboys Stadium featured extra screens on each side of the stage for Big & Rich’s show, while another night’s event featured screens enhancing country artist Jack Ingram’s performance.

LD Stefan DeWilde needed the expanded grandMA system, which featured an NSP (Network Signal Processor) and eight universes. “It was essential to have everything networked on the show,” he said.
Read More »LONDON – Timed for London’s Olympic summer is the new stage adaptation of the classic British film “Chariots of Fire,” telling the story of a much earlier Olympic Games. To supply the lighting for the show, LD Rick Fisher turned to his regular collaborator White Light. The company also supplied external lighting to the Gielgud Theatre for a performance by Vangelis of his Chariots of Fire theme as the Olympic Torch passed the theatre.

LOUIS – For an outdoor production of “Dreamgirls,” LD Seth Jackson called upon wireless and battery-operated CHAUVET fixtures to light six 16-ft. mobile truss towers that freely move across its 94-ft. stage. “The truss towers are large pieces. Cables or anything even close to that would have just been impossible to deal with,” said Jackson.
