INDIANAPOLIS – Dodd Technologies installed Elation Professional’s Platinum Beam 5R units in Bankers Life Fieldhouse as part of a project to upgrade lighting effects at the arena. After trying out a quantity of the fixtures for their season opener in December, Pacers Sports and Entertainment purchased 10 units for permanent installation for the Indiana Pacers’ 2012 run to the NBA playoffs.

LOS ANGELES — Upstage Video, rental providers of mobile and modular LED video screens, has acquired Thousand Oaks, CA-based LED rental house JumboScreen Co. (JSC), which had been owned and operated by the late David Mann, who died last year in an on-the-job accident. Upstage Video will be shifting JSC’s operating base to a new 10,000-square-foot facility in downtown Los Angeles.

Daktronics partnered with GKD Metal Fabrics on Mediamesh, a stainless steel mesh with thin, horizontal Daktronics LED strips placed at custom vertical intervals. The product, designed for use with architectural applications, can transform a building’s façade into a dynamic communications medium. Clay Paky Illuminates America’s Cup World Series Opener
NAPLES, Italy – Clay Paky illuminated the opening ceremony of the America’s Cup World Series in Naples. LD Emiliano Morgia chose 50 Clay Paky Alpha Profile 1500s, 24 Alpha Beam 1500s and 14 Alpha Beam 700s. The ceremony in Piazza del Plebiscito took the form of a spectacular party and played host to a series of live music and dance acts.

For this special gig they specified a mostly Martin rig supplied by Christie Lites which included Martin MAC Aura and MAC 101 wash lights along with MAC III Profiles, MAC 2000 Wash XBs and Atomic 3000 strobes with Atomic Colors scrollers.
