Read More »SAN DIEGO – Nautilus Entertainment Design was honored with an IES 2012 “Commendable Achievement in Lighting Design” award for the Qualcomm Museum in San Diego. Nautilus provided lighting design and A/V system design for the museum, including more than 16 large format interactive video kiosks and an integrated control system.

Read More »NEW YORK — Production Resource Group’s new Best Boy 4000 Spot luminaire is making its Broadway debut on the Tony-nominated revival of Evita as part of a broader package of gear provided by PRG. LD Neil Austin said he chose the Best Boy for its brightness, low power draw and much lower noise as compared to other spot fixtures. Evita is playing at the Marquis Theatre.

Chris Steel, who has worked with the band since 2010, programmed and operated the lighting.
Read More »INDIO, CA – This year’s Coachella Music and Arts Festival event experience was enhanced by the dramatic lighting of the festival grounds, made possible with LumenRadio’s CRMX Nova wireless control, installed by Felix Lighting. Two LumenRadio TX2 RDM transmitters controlled three DMX universes of 20 SyncroLite 7K searchlights and 260 ColorKinetics ColorBlaze fixtures. Seventeen LumenRadio receivers were placed on remote lighting towers up to three-quarters of a mile from the control center.
Read More »LAS VEGAS – For the redesign of the lobby and entryway at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas, LD Herrick Goldman selected the Brickblaster Pro RGBW and WWCW. The compact size of the Brickblaster Pro allowed the fixtures to fit into hidden alcoves throughout the lobby, while track mounted fixtures were used in the main hallway, which has a low ceiling height of 8 feet.

The 50 white lights and 40 RGB strobes, specified by LD Thomas Gerdon and supplied by production company, schoko pro, were in constant action throughout the marathon.

LD Durham Marenghi, who has designed this show since 2008, has specified Clay Paky Alpha Spot HPE and Profile 1500s, Alpha Spot HPE 300s and Alpha Beam 700s to create a dynamic light show for each skater, while a single Sharpy lights the Winners Trophy throughout.
Read More »LAS VEGAS — Airing live on ABC shortly after the natural light show outside — a partial solar eclipse — the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, staged at the MGM Grand Arena May 20 and supported by PRG, featured design flourishes in lighting and video that animated the set and a visual circus of performances. There were also musical and silent tributes for Whitney Houston, Adam Yauch, Donna Summer and Robin Gibb.
