Pandoras Box Opens Autosymphonic Event

MANNHEIM, Germany – Coolux Pandoras Box products were called in to help the city celebrate the 125th anniversary of Karl Benz’s modern automobile. (He received the first patent in 1886 for a gas-fueled car.) The “Autosymphonic” event combined live music, an orchestra, 80 cars used as instruments on stage, water fountains and architectural projections onto a local landmark.

The Magic Lamp by Global Special Effects is a 11.5-foot-tall “street lamp” that generates “Evaporative Snow.” While giving the appearance of snow, the biodegradable, non-toxic snow-like material never accumulates. It evaporates within 90 seconds and does not leave a residue, according to the company. It’s a non-slip, flame-retardant effect that can be used indoors or out. The aluminum-cast street lamp itself, which comes with three light globes and three Evaporative Snow nozzles on top, can be operated by controls hidden in its base or by remote control.

Gemini Open House Featured Parasol KLR System

DALLAS – Gemini LSV (Light Sound Video) held an open house Nov. 16-17 to demonstrate the Parasol KLR-10 (Kinetic Light Ring) system. Gemini became the first company to purchase this system, which enables a designer to move the source point of a number of automated lighting fixtures along a pre-defined path. The system setup at LDI 2011 is pictured here, with Clay Paky Sharpy fixtures.
