LONDON — Artistic Licence Engineering announced the release of Art-Net 3. Fully backward-compatible with previous versions, this free-of-charge Ethernet protocol is now capable of handling a 32,768 universes (32 “Kiloverses”) of DMX lighting control. Art-Net II, by contrast, had a data capacity of 256 universes.

The LED Show Set for Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, July 26-27

LAS VEGAS — The LED show is set to get underway at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas July 26-27. The event includes a two-day conference with a full roster of speakers/presenters from 9 am to 5 pm on July 26 (day one), and from 9 am to 3 pm on July 27 (day two). RSC Lightlock, and Its Inventor, Featured at Park Avenue Armory Aug. 2

NEW YORK — Vince Herbert, head of the Lighting Department for the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), which has taken up residency in New York’s Park Avenue Armory this summer, will be on hand to demonstrate RSC Lightlock’s motion stabilizing technology, discuss its evolution, and explain its use in the lighting system installed for the RSC in New York.
