Northern Sound & Light Goes Green with Solar Power Install

PITTSBURGH, PA – Northern Sound & Light (NSL) has invested in a new solar power system as part of a larger green strategy for the firm. NSL's solar power system is comprised of 117 photovoltaic solar panels feeding three current inverters. The 117 panels cover nearly the entire southern facing roof of NSL's facility. The system is estimated to produce approximately 25,170 kW annual average, enough electricity that NSL will achieve energy-positive status and be able to sell electricity back to the utility.

Lightswitch Helps Barry Manilow Shift from Concert to Theatrical Show

LAS VEGAS – When Barry Manilow moved his show from the Las Vegas Hilton to the Paris Las Vegas for a new two-year residency, the production team wanted to make a few changes to better reflect and adapt to their new home. To do so, they brought in lighting designer Chris Medvitz of Lightswitch to create an intimate yet potent lighting design. Lightswitch then enlisted the assistance of PRG and 65 Vari*Lite luminaires from Philips Vari-Lite.

Stage Barriers Contain Bieber Fever at State Fair

TIMONIUM, MD – Maryland had a serious case of "Bieber Fever" over Labor Day weekend as Justin Bieber and his My World 2.0 tour came to the infield of the Timonium Race Track at the state fairgrounds. To prepare for an enthusiastic audience of 12,500, the production brought in eps' heavy-duty GIGS barricades. More than 600 feet of barricade was positioned to keep legions of screaming fans safe and secure during the highlight concert of the State Fair, which also featured young acts Sean Kingston and Vita Chambers.
