Bruce Springsteen Cancels Kansas City Gig, Might Perform in NYC

KANSAS CITY, MO — Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band cancelled a performance here Oct. 26 after the sudden death of Lenny Sullivan, 34. Sullivan, Springsteen’s cousin, was assistant tour manager. Springsteen’s next performance was slated for Madison Square Garden on Oct. 29 at the first of two Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary concerts. Springsteen and the band are expected to perform.

Gearhouse SA Supports MTV African Music Awards

NAIROBI, Kenya — The 2009 MTV African Music Awards, staged at the Kasarani Gymnasium at the Moi International Sports Centre, required some 55,000 kgs (more than 60 tons) of gear — and not just from around the block. Gearhouse South Africa, which supplied lighting, LED screens, rigging, power distribution and audio, flew it all in from South Africa.
