ESTA and PERA Announce Merger Plans

NEW YORK, NY –– The Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA) and the Production Equipment Rental Association (PERA) agreed to merge, subject to final ratification. Under the agreement, PERA will become the PERA Council within ESTA, retaining its focus on the production of film, television and commercials. The Council’s mission is to focus on development and implementation of programs and services for production rental businesses.

In Memoriam: Tharon Musser, 84

Tharon Musser, a Tony award-winning lighting designer who worked on more than 150 Broadway shows, passed away at age 84. Her credits include one of the longest-running Broadway musicals, A Chorus Line, which was also the first to use a completely computerized lighting console.

Wybron Updates Infogate Feedback Software

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO—Wybron has released an updated version of Infogate software. Version 2.2 of Wybron’s Infogate, which uses RDM, includes a simplified layout for the Device Parameter Spreadsheet, the ability to maintain the Device Parameter Spreadsheet layout when closed, a new ESTA status message to report lamp and cable failure and new RDM throttle to allow users to reduce the number of RDM data packets transmitted along the DMX cable.
