The Field of Light installation by British artist Bruce Munro, recently opened at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at the University of Texas, Austin. Field of Light, mixed media (fiber optical, glass, acrylic, light source) consists of a stunning display of 28,000 solar powered stems that gently illuminate the arboretum.

The opening ceremony of the 20th Games Of Jiangsu Province was held on the evening of Aug. 28 in Taizhou Sports Park in China. Following a spring run of shows, Santana toured the U.S. from June 17 to Aug. 27 with opening act Earth, Wind & Fire. Santana’s “Miraculous Supernatural Tour” featured a lighting design by Michael Ledesma that included Elation Protron Eclypse hybrid LED luminaires and SEVEN Batten 14 LED strip lights. The German band Die Ärzte followed up the release of their 2020 album, “Hell” (“Bright” in German) with “Dunkel” (“Dark”) in 2021. This year, after pandemic restrictions eased, the band supported both albums with their 2022 tour. Production designer Bertil Mark’s honeycomb-patterned design incorporates impression X5 and X4 Bar 20 fixtures along with JDC Line 500 and JDC1 units from GLP.
