Malmo Opera’s Socially Distanced “Funny Girl” Production Includes Astera Fixtures

MALMO, Sweden – The Malmo Opera presented an acclaimed production of musical classic Funny Girl as part of the autumn/winter repertory program. Although the show went on, the production plan changed dramatically to minimize Covid-19 infection risks. For starters, the live audience was limited to 50 socially distanced attendees. Other ticket holders could watch via a livestream for each performance. LD Fredrik Jonsson used the Opera’s supply of Astera fixtures to create some memorable looks.

Michael T. Strickland To Testify Before Senate on Dec. 15

Emilio Aguilar Covers Costa Rica with Obsidian NX2 Lighting Console

HEREDIA, Costa Rica – With an assist from Elation distributor Luces y Sistemas, LD Emilio Aguilar used some of the downtime imposed by Covid-19 earlier this year to brush up on his skills with the Obsidian NX2 lighting console. Since July, Aguilar has used the console on about a dozen different gigs, including a November livestream marking the 20th anniversary of singer Arnoldo Castillo’s career.
