Astera AX1s Make Light of Darkness for Umbra Festival Installation

VITORIA-GASTIEZ, Spain – The first Umbra Light Festival featured 20 site-specific lighting installations in Vitoria-Gastiez, Spain from Feb. 21-23. One of them offered visitors an immersive work of light art created by Carlos Torrijos. Titled “Buscando la Vida” (Searching for Life), it used 24 Astera AX1 Pixel Tubes to fill a former water reservoir next to the Palacio de Montehermoso with colorful light.

BOCHUM, Germany – The visual capabilities of laser projectors offered by Bochum, Germany-based tarm Showlaser GmbH are on full display in “#reflection,” an artistic laser show that makes use of static and computer-controlled motorized mirror surfaces and diffraction gratings. The display reveals the full-color RGBYC laser sources along with shapes and colors that dance in sync with the futuristic musical soundtrack.

Swedish Singers Competing for Eurovision Nod Lit by Robe Fixtures

STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Since 1959, Sweden has selected its national representatives for the annual Eurovision song contest with an annual TV competition, known since 1967 as the Melodifestivalen. LD Fredrik Jonsson of Eyebrow Design has lit Melodifestivalen since 2002. This year he specified 38 Robe MegaPointes, eight BMFL Spots (part of a RoboSpot remote follow spot system) and 21 BMFL WashBeams.
