LEDs Light Up El Paso Shopping Center, Club

EL PASO, TX — It may have sounded a bit quixotic at first, but developer Alex Dias gave his Windmill Shopping Center here the look of a Las Vegas nightclub in order to attract customers. On closer inspection, however, the 600-foot run of LED video appears to make more sense — Diaz also owns Nova Luna, a Vegas-style nightclub located in the center.

In Memoriam: Harry Donovan, 1943-2009

Harry Donovan, one of the world’s foremost rigging experts and author of Entertainment Rigging, died Sept. 23 after an ongoing battle with cancer. Donovan, 66, was both an engineer and one of the entertainment industry’s most experienced and respected riggers, a unique combination. He devoted his career to studying the art and science of rigging.

Dennis DeYoung to Host Parnelli Awards

LAS VEGAS — The Parnelli Board of Directors has announced that Dennis DeYoung will be hosting the Parnelli Awards Nov. 20 in Orlando. DeYoung wrote and performed “Come Sail Away,” “Babe," "Lady" and many other hits for Styx, and he also played a key role in the band’s themed albums and theatrical and visually groundbreaking shows.
