It may never rain in southern California, but it pays to be prepared because when it does, man, it pours. Full Flood Inc. Lighting Designer Noah Mitz and Lighting Director Bryan Klunder opted to use 40 IP65-rated Ayrton Perseo fixtures for Adele’s surprise CBS special, Adele One Night Only, at the landmark Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles last November. Applications for The Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative Due by March 31, 2022

The American Theater Wing is still accepting applications for the Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative Training Scholarships. The training opportunities, which are aimed at middle and high school students (grades 6-11) cover a range of behind-the-scenes disciplines including stage management, lighting design, arts administration, and playwrighting to name a few, in addition to actors/performers. Katz and McLane Talk Design for MJ The Musical with Support from PRG

The design for MJ: The Musical, which opened on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre on Feb. 3, was brought to life by scenic designer Derek McLane and lighting designer Natasha Katz with projection design by Peter Nigrini. Both Katz and McLane worked with PRG who provided the scenic, lighting, and automation for the highly anticipated production. Here Katz and McLane discuss their design solutions for the musical, which centers around the making of Michael Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous World Tour.
