IATSE Members Ratify Contracts with Producers, Studios and Streaming Services

Contracts between IATSE and AMPTP address quality-of-life issues such as rest and meal breaks; boost revenues from streaming; include raises for all members and lift those at the bottom to a living wage.

Los Angeles—Members of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts (IATSE) have voted to ratify two contracts, the Basic Agreement, and the Area Standards Agreement, with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), the trade group representing producers, major studios, and streaming services.Read More »IATSE Members Ratify Contracts with Producers, Studios and Streaming Services

In Memoriam: Behind the Scenes Accepts Donations in Memory of Nick Wurzel

NEW YORK – Behind the Scenes noted that family and friends of industry veteran Nick Wurzel, who lost his battle with substance abuse on Sept. 27, wish to honor him and support others who are struggling by raising funds for BTS’ Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Initiative. A memorial service for Wurzel, a longtime employee at ETC, is expected to take place in Wisconsin in early 2022.

Robe In the Clouds with ИF

NASHVILLE – US rapper ИF’s Clouds tour included a production design from Chris Denholm (also musical director) and Clay Joiner (also lighting designer) that needed some seriously bright lights. Denholm and Joiner chose more than 200 Robe fixtures including 64 Robe Tarrantula wash beams, 128 Spikies and 16 BMFL Spots plus two BMFL FollowSpots on a RoboSpot remote followspot system.

3G Productions Restructures with West Coast Focus, New Las Vegas HQ

LAS VEGAS – 3G Productions announced plans for a new 50,000-square-foot headquarters location in Las Vegas, to be opened in January 2022. Savannah, GA—Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) has opened a new xR stage for virtual production powered by disguise vx 4 and rx II media servers, as part of a landmark 10.9-acre expansion project of the university’s Savannah Film Studios, with a Hollywood-style film backlot.
