PLSN’s Prolight+Sound 2019 Show Report

FRANKFURT, Germany – The Prolight and Sound show returned to Frankfurt, Germany this year in grand style with a new exhibition hall for the lighting world. Held from April 2-5, the event drew over 85,000 attendees checking out the latest gear. Half of the patrons were from outside of Germany, representing 130 different nations. Highlights included the first moving lights with a laser light source powering the beam plus all kinds of other advances in the realms of lighting, lasers, safety and software programs.

Chroma-Q Color Force II Fixtures Work with SEG Scrim to Tease the Eyes at CES 2019

LAS VEGAS – Designer Paul Fine and his team at Fine Design Associates used Chroma-Q Color Force II fixtures to transform the fabric walls flanking the entrances to one of the larger exhibits at the trade show. By turning the walls from opaque to translucent, the scrim and lighting fixtures piqued the curiosity of show attendees.

Nissan Lights 2019 Altima with Elation Artiste Picasso Fixtures

NEW YORK – Christien Methot, principal LD at Design One in New York, used Elation Professional’s Artiste Picasso fixtures as part of Nissan’s “snow globe” promotion for its 2019 Altima. Design agency Fake Love worked with Stuart Weissman Productions to display the car in a 36-foot geodesic dome for the promotion, which was taped during the holidays in Lower Manhattan and open to the public.

Aram Supplies Chauvet Strike 1 Fixtures for Major Esports Tournament in Poland

KATOWICE, Poland – Once a year, gamers from around the globe gather for the world’s largest gaming event: the Intel Extreme Masters. This year’s event saw 24 of the world’s best gaming teams compete in a tournament for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in front of a live audience for a $1 million prize. Poland-based Aram, which first supported the Esports event in 2015, provided 16 Strike 1 fixtures from Chauvet Professional for the IEM Season XIII World Championship, held from Feb. 13-March 3, 2019.
