Recorded as the strongest Atlantic basin hurricane outside of the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, Hurricane Irma stretched 650 miles from east to west. Irma left 132 people dead and cost billions of dollars in damage when it made landfall last month. Two weeks later, Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico, causing catastrophic damage and a major humanitarian crisis for the island.

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE – Bandit Lites was proud to provide the lighting for Danny Gokey’s performance at the 48th Annual Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. The GMA Dove Award Winner took the stage October 18 with a lighting design by Chris Lisle, with the televised show airing October 22 on Trinity Broadcasting Network. Considering the design had to roll on and off stage as quickly as possible, fit within the allotted stage space all while looking sharp and dynamic for both the audience and for television, Lisle crafted looks by utilizing GT truss with Robe Pointe fixtures mounted on top.

NORMAN, OK – Severe winds from a tornado-producing storm caused structural damage during a Beach Boys performance at the Riverwind Casino in Norman, OK on Oct. 22, cutting the show short. No one was injured in the incident, but the casino complex, which includes the 1,500-seat venue, sustained significant damage, allowing rainwater to rush inside.

These help realize a unique design intent by Butts and co-production designer and show director, Raj Kapoor, whose aim was to start forging a signature ‘brand image’ for the band.

SAN ANTONIO – David Luis Rosas, LD for Tex-Mex band Grupo Siggno, used China-sourced PR Lighting and Mega-Lite fixtures for a show featuring the Tejano artists at 4,000-capacity Cowboys Dance Hall in San Antonio. Global Productions, owned by Adrian Gallegos and Daniel Martinez, supplied the fixtures distributed by Helotes, TX-based Mega Systems Inc. The rig included XLED 3007 fixtures, XLED 4022RZ fixtures and Phantom fixtures from PR Lighting along with Mega-Lite XBAR LED RGB Strobes and a Drama FZ-LED 700 followspot.

Bushell, who worked closely with Creative Director Tarik Mikou from Moment Factory on the production, is using an Avolites Sapphire Touch and Titan v10.1 app to control the enveloping lighting environment, which features a 360° stage set in the round.

LAS VEGAS – ER Productions will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for Largest Laser Show at LDI 2017. The attempt will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 on the LDI Live Outside stage. The attempt will be accompanied by a live performance from British DJ Damian Gee. The laser and DJ show, open to all show attendees, is also part of ER Productions’ celebration of its 10-year company milestone. Along with the world record attempt, the company will showcase its capabilities at demonstration suite N102 from Nov. 17-19.
