CHICAGO – It’s easy to see why the Atlantic Ballroom at the Radisson Blu Aqua has become a sought-after venue for A-list parties and events. With its 20’ windows and outdoor balcony, the 1,200-capacity room offers spectacular views of Chicago’s fabled skyline and Lake Michigan far below.  Architectural flourishes like a high ribbed ceiling add to the room’s elegance. Creating a connective sense of warmth inside this spacious area, without distracting attention from its panoramic features, presented a challenge to Jordan Chance of Luxe Productions in late May, when he was asked to light the room for a fundraising ball.

MIDDLETON, WI– On Thursday, July 20th, nearly 250 ETC end users arrived in Madison, WI, for the fourth CUE conference. CUE, short for Create Understand Experience, is a professional development conference hosted by ETC every other summer. This year’s classes were organized into one- and two-day-long tracks so attendees would have a more immersive, educational experience. Tracks focused on technicians, educators, general system networking, designing a better theater, and Eos console programming.

Accenting the beauty of the towering Neo-Gothic limestone structure during this event was an enchanting and endlessly fascinating lighting design by Elizabeth A Coco that featured 160 CHAUVET Professional and CHAUVET DJ fixtures supplied by Atmosphere, Inc. of Silver Spring, MD.

Spring Dance Team Show in Texas Brightens with HES SolaSpot 2000s

AUSTIN, TX – For a recent collaboration with the Cavalettes Dance Team in Austin, TX, Lake Travis High School students Max Dalton and Trenton Schoonmaker used High End Systems SolaSpot 2000s to take the group’s production, Love, to a new artistic level. The technicians at the Lake Travis PAC are all students enrolled in the Technical Theatre program at Lake Travis High School, and are part of the LTHS Student Chapter of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology.

Amos Lee Tours With Bandit Lites

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE – Amos Lee departed for his 2017 summer tour with both his sixth studio album, Spirit ̧ and a lighting package provided by Bandit Lites in tow. The singer- songwriter, known for his hybrid of blues, rock and folk sound has been bringing his smooth vocals to performances across the country, culminating in his first solo headline tour this fall. Bandit Lites provided Production Manager Drew Consalvo and Lighting Designer Tom Laveuf a package of over 75 fixtures for the tour, making sure to streamline the prep for the daily execution of shows by a single crew member.

A.C.T Lighting Supports Clearwing at Summerfest with Claypaky Fixtures, MA Lighting Consoles and More

MILWAUKEE – Summerfest marked its 50th anniversary this year on the grounds of Henry Maier Festival Park along the Milwaukee lakefront. Clearwing Productions provided MA Lighting consoles and an array of Claypaky fixtures and Robert Juliat followspots. MDG atmospheric hazers were also on hand for the 11-day event, which is billed as the world’s largest music festival.
