Norwegian Cruise Ship in China Features ETC Lighting Fixtures and Control Systems

MIDDLETON, WI – This summer, Norwegian Cruise Line welcomed the spectacular Norwegian Joy to its fleet. A custom-built ship for the Chinese cruise market, the ship, which measures more than 1,000 feet from bow to stern, promises a luxurious experience for up to 3,850 guests. Along with the first go-kart racetrack at sea, the ship offers multiple bars, restaurants and casinos, a shopping center, a waterpark and a theater. The vessel is also equipped with multiple lighting control desks and an array of lighting fixtures from ETC.

Dropkick Murphys and Rancid Turn Up Intensity with Chauvet Professional

PHOENIX – The Dropkick Murphys have been touring in support of their ninth album release, 11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory, released earlier this year. Joining the Celtic punk rockers are co-headliners Rancid and LD Cody James, who has been using Chauvet Professional Maverick and Rogue fixtures supplied by JDI Productions. The goal, James said, is to “create a continuous flow of punchy looks for two 90-minute sets.”

Bandit Lites Assists Nashville Sideshow Fringe Festival

NASHVILLE  – When the team at Nashville’s annual Sideshow Fringe Festival found themselves in need of fast lighting assistance, they turned to the lighting industry’s leader who happened to be located minutes away, Bandit Lites. The Sideshow Fringe Festival celebrates a variety of performing arts, with the two weekends of shows running the gamut of entertainment, from circus acts, dance, performing arts and clowning to improv and storytelling. The event took place at Belmont University’s Black Box Theater.

OneRepublic Headlines 2017 Honda Civic Tour, Lit with Claypaky Fixtures

VANCOUVER, BC Canada – For the 2017 Honda Civic Tour headlined by OneRepublic, production designer/LD Mark Butts collaborated with show designer Raj Kapoor on a lighting rig that includes Claypaky Mythos2 and Sharpy Wash fixtures with grandMA2 consoles for control. Brian Jenkins and A.J. Pen programmed the show, and Pen is out as lighting director. The tour, which wraps up with some September shows near Houston, TX, also features Fitz & The Tantrums and opener James Arthur.

DETROIT – Graeme Flegenheimer, owner of El Club in Detroit, Michigan, fell in love with music at a young age. That may explain his diverse taste in music and the wide variety of acts that play at the popular live music venue, which has featured a customizable Elation Professional lighting rig since opening in 2016. “I pride myself on El Club having an eclectic calendar,” says Flegenheimer, who has a background as a music publicist. “There’s not a typical night here. ANSI Approves E1.50-1 Standard for Supporting Video Displays

NYC – On August 14 ANSI’s Board of Standards Review approved ANSI E1.50-1 — 2017, Requirements for the Structural Support of Temporary LED, Video & Display Systems. It was published by ESTA on the same day. ANSI E1.50-1 covers the support of temporary installations of large format modular display systems, LED, video and other self-illuminating display structures not otherwise addressed by existing standards. The scope of this standard includes planning and site preparedness, assembly and erection, suspension and safety of components, special access requirements, use, and dismantling of these systems.
