ANDERSON, SC – When NewSpring Church sought to upgrade the lighting system in the 2,400-seat worship space within the multi-campus congregation’s church in Anderson, SC, they turned to Erien Reinerth of LMG for an upgrade. The new lighting system includes Platinum HFX, Platinum Spot 15R, ACL 360 Bar LED battens, Sniper effect lights and SixPar 300 LED Par lights from Elation Professional, with a High End Systems Road Hog Full Boar 4 console for control.

HG Lighting Design Announces Year-Round Donations to Behind the Scenes

NEW YORK, NY—Lighting designer Herrick Goldman, principal of HG Lighting Design, recently announced that he will be donating a portion of his design fees throughout the year to the Behind the Scenes charity. He is the first designer to make an ongoing pledge of a portion of design fee profits to the charity. Designers have previously pledged a day’s royalties as well as generously made individual donations but Goldman is the first designer to pledge a portion of profits in an ongoing manner and becomes the charity’s first Pledge-a-Service Partner.

Five Years After Radiohead Stage Accident in Toronto, Mistrial Declared

TORONTO – A mistrial was declared in the legal case against Live Nation and others stemming from the June 16, 2012 staging accident that killed drum tech Scott Johnson, 33, before a Radiohead show at Downsview Park in Toronto. A new trial was ordered after the judge presiding over the case, Justice Shaun Nakatsuru, was appointed to the Ontario Superior Court. Since that reassignment, earlier this year, Nakatsuru has stated that he no longer had jurisdiction over the case.

One Death Reported at 2017 Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – Michael Morse, 34, was pronounced dead at 7:41 a.m. Saturday morning, June 17 at the Electric Daisy Carnival after the event’s first night at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, according to local reports. The reported death, confirmed with the Clark County (NV) coroner’s office on June 19, did not list a cause, but reports from family members suggested heat may have been a factor.
