Main Stage at Ottawa Bluesfest Collapses During Cheap Trick Performance
PLSN Staff | News | July 18, 2011OTTAWA — A squall knocked down the main stage overhead rig on the last day of the 12-day Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest on Sunday, July 17, about 20 minutes after Cheap Trick started performing. The band members and most of the crew were reported to be okay and no fatalities were reported. The overhead truss and gear fell backward, away from the crowd, onto some trucks. Three people were hospitalized and released, including Sandy Sanderson, a truck driver for Cheap Trick, who sustained the most serious injuries.
