In Memoriam: Tommy Stephenson, 53

FAIRPORT HARBOR, OH — Tommy Stephenson, longtime sales manager for Burbank, CA-based TMB, died Feb. 21, 2017. He was 53. Stephenson was the first employee to be hired by TMB founders and partners Marshall Bissett and Colin Waters after they formed the company to distribute entertainment production supplies in the mid-1980s.

ILC Golf Outing 2017 Takes Place Again to Back Behind the Scenes

CHICAGO – Ready to golf in 2017? ILC (Arlington Heights IL) will once again host the annual Golf Outing to benefit the Behind the Scenes Charity. This year’s event will be held at White Pines Golf Club (Bensenville IL) Thursday July 27th. This event is perfect for everyone, no matter their skill level, from beginners to scratch golfers. Foursomes will play in a round of “best ball” with additional challenges throughout the round. All skill levels are encouraged to participate. The event will include a round of golf, lunch, cocktail hour, and dinner as well as a door-prize raffle and other games.

SAN FRANCISCO – Pin Point Lighting, based in suburban Philadelphia, provided the lighting design and programming for electro-industrial artist Ayria on the Paper Dolls USA Tour supporting her latest eponymous album.  Pin Point Lighting supplied a full floor package to the tour plus MA Lighting’s dot2 core compact lighting console. In fact, Ayria’s drummer was the designated technician for the tour setting up the whole show in under 30 minutes at each stop.

In Memoriam: Larry Sizemore, 66

DALLAS — Larry Sizemore, a Dallas-based LD who worked and toured with rock legends and icons including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Willie Nelson, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Madonna and ZZ Top, among others, died Feb. 16 at the Baylor Cancer Center with his two daughters, Andrea and Emily, by his side. He was 66.

LAS VEGAS — Terry Lowe, executive producer of the Parnelli Awards and publisher of PLSN and FOH magazines, announced that Chris Weathers and Mary Conde have joined the Parnelli Awards Board of Advisors. Weathers, based in Chicago, is a regional director of productions for Live Nation. Conde is director of productions for Another Planet Entertainment (APE), and she also serves as venue manager for the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

Bandit Illuminates Antiques And Garden Show Of Nashville

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE –While the weather may not quite ready to bring on Spring flowers, the Music City Center flourished with more than 150 exhibitors of luscious gardens, antiques and renowned guest speakers from the design world for the Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville. Bandit Lites provided the lighting package for Chris Lisle Lighting Design for the three day event where interior designer Nate Berkus gave the keynote address. This year’s event theme centered on “Cultivated Style” and the idea that homes and gardens are reflections of collaborative journeys individuals make, and as their stories evolve, so do their styles at home.

PORTLAND, OR – Officially, the theme of this year’s Portland Winter Light Festival was “Between the River and the Stars.” In reality, though, it could also have been described as “connecting people to light.” Held at the beginning of February on Portland’s beautiful Willamette River waterfront, the free four-day festival engaged visitors with an abundance of immersive lighting displays and interactive events like “Illuminate Bike Rides” and a “Glow Jam” circus show.
